My Cheeks Hurt from Smiling!

Can you do permanent damage by smiling too much??? If so then, I am in really big trouble! Monday in the mail there was a package from Quilters Newsletter Magazine. I hurried and opened it and there was the April/May edition. I opened it and right in the center is a 4 page, colored pictures and everything article on the Panguitch Quilt Walk Festival. How cool is that!!!!

Dana Jones the editor, came last year to see what the Quilt Walk was and to see about the Patchwork Parkway. She stayed with us in the cottage and we really enjoyed her. She was going to write an article on us, and I assumed it would be a one page story. I was totally blown away by the whole thing! No wonder I have always loved Quilters Newsletter!

Even though I retired last year after 14 years of doing the Quilt Walk I am so proud of where it is today. There are wonderful people to take over and keep it going. That's the best part of it. It is a wonderful event for our town and for each and everyone of you who come.

Also in that issue is an article on Cathy Miller, the Singing Quilter. She was here last year also and what a wonderful lady. Truly grace personified. We enjoyed her and John so much. So turn the page after the Quilt Walk story and read about Cathy.

So, make sure you find one and check it out and think of me with that big smile on my face!

Happy as can be!

OUT OF TOUCH.. BUT NOT OUT OF THE LOOP

Yes, I have not posted for almost a year. I just needed to take a step back and re-adjust my life. I retired from the Quilt Walk after 14 years. It was a big step for me as it was my "baby". But guess what..it was like the weight of the world was off my shoulders.

This last year I have just relaxed more, had lots of company, traveled, worked my day job and enjoyed my life! No deadlines! No pressure! Pretty awesome!

I came home from work early today to drink all the stuff you have to drink to prepare for a colonscopy tomorrow. While I was waiting for it all to take effect I was reading blogs and came across Rae Ann's She had made this darling apron out of a man's shirt. So I went to Leon's closet and found an old shirt and went to work. There were stains on it though and so I thought "why not spray it with bleach and see what happens". Rae Ann has a great tutorial and pictures so it made up really fast and easy.I sprayed it and it turned out great. I had some wonderful crocheted trim with rickrack and buttons to add to the pockets and then it was done!
Then I took the back of the shirt, added a facing at the neck , a pocket and ties and then there were two aprons. A fun way to spend the afternoon while drinking all that stuff for my test tommorrow! Thanks Rae Ann for the great ideas!

Wish me luck on my test tomorrow!
